Dr. Blom has long been interested in expanding her practice from anesthesia to aesthetic medicine. Dr. Blom graduated from medical school in 1994, completed her diploma in anesthesia in 1996, and continued to work as a GP and anesthetist. In 2003, she settled in Midland and worked at the Georgian Bay General Hospital for 17 years in the Department of Anesthesia. She now performs anesthesia at the Barrie Endoscopy Clinic and Waypoint Centre for Mental Health while pursuing her longstanding interest in medical aesthetics at the Bayside Medical Centre in Penetanguishene.

Katie is the first person you’ll be in contact with at DCBA whether you call, text, or email us. She is also the first person you will hear when entering the building with her infectious laugh. Katie brings high energy to the clinic and ensures every client walks out laughing and smiling. If she’s not on the phone scheduling appointments or communicating with patients, she is busy researching treatments, products, and protocols that can help elevate our services and to give you the best experience. With 17 years of experience in the medical aesthetic industry, Katie is well-versed in all treatments and products offered at DCBA. Although she doesn’t perform the treatments herself, she can confidently answer any questions you may have regarding your treatment and is always there to hold your hand if you’re nervous. Have skin care questions? Katie is your girl! She’s knowledgeable in both SkinCeuticals and Vivier products we carry.

After a long work day, Katie enjoys winding down with a glass of wine and watching the Leafs game with her spouse and dog. On weekends, she loves spending time with her stepkids, always finding fun activities to do together!

Medical Aesthetician & InMode Specialist

Melissa is our medical aesthetician who does everything but injectables at DCBA. If you’re having an IPL, Morpheus8, Vasculaze, VTone, Forma or DiolazeXL treatment, Melissa is your girl. She makes even the most uncomfortable treatments comfortable, and her hands are said to be magic that will have you floating off to dreamland. In addition to being thoroughly and extensively trained on our technology by InMode, Melissa has 11 years of experience in the aesthetic industry. She is a trained lash technician and is happy to provide your lashes with whatever treatment they require - a lift, tint or extension. Recognizing that every person and treatment is unique, you can be guaranteed that Melissa has done extensive studying for your treatment prior to your appointment to give you the best possible result. She is passionate about medical grade skincare and learning new techniques, tips and tricks to help you in any way she can.

When Melissa isn’t in the clinic, she can be found fawning over her pug, Botox, with her husband.
